Pomatura is a bio-based material derived from apple waste, primarily from the fruit juice and compote industry. It serves as an environmentally and animal-friendly alternative to leather.
Pomatura is a bio-based material made from apple industry by-products, significantly reducing the need for virgin resources. It is free from the harmful chemicals typically used in conventional leather tanning, such as chromium, and has a considerably lower carbon footprint.
Yes, Pomatura is praised for its durability, which is comparable to traditional leather. It withstands regular use in various equestrian activities.
Pomatura is free from chromium and other harsh chemicals found in traditional leather tanning. This makes it gentle on sensitive horse skin and reduces the risk of allergic reactions or irritation from prolonged contact.
Yes, we use plant-based Pomatura material as an alternative to conventional leather, and we design and develop all our products in Switzerland. We strive to minimise our environmental impact across the entire production process.

Our saddle pads are made from natural cotton molton, not polyester. Cotton breathes with your horse, regulates heat and moisture, and gives the pad a substantial, anchored feel under the saddle.
Yes. We pre-wash the cotton fabric before stitching, so you can wash your saddle pad at up to 60°C without it shrinking out of shape. Hang to dry or tumble on low.
Natural cotton has a denser, slightly textured surface that grips the saddle's panels — it stays put through schooling and jumping. Polyester pads tend to slide because their fibres are smooth and synthetic.
Each fly bonnet is hand-crocheted from natural yarn — no plastic or polyester fibres. The yarn breathes around your horse's ears and stays soft against the skin, with no scratchy edges.
Because every bonnet is handmade, we recommend washing gently at up to 30°C. A delicate wash preserves the shape, the tension of the crochet, and the natural feel of the yarn. Reshape and lay flat to dry.
Yes — each piece is individually crocheted by hand. That's why no two bonnets are exactly alike, and why we keep production small. Hand-finishing ensures even tension and a flexible fit that machine-knitted bonnets can't replicate.
